On Sunday, we headed up to the mountains for a day trip. We didn't have much in mind, other than stopping at our "secret spot" (right after Helen but before heading over the mountain to Hiawassee). This is a spot that I've been going to since I was younger than Molly. I've always loved it there. It's just a little spot where you can play in the creek and throw rocks and take a little break.
Molly enjoyed it just as much as I used to. She could barely believe her ears when we told her she could actually throw rocks. She was beyond excited.
My family has always spent lots of time in the Hiawassee area. My Uncle David had a cabin up there, and my Grandmother had a camper that we used to spend summers upon summers hanging out and running around Eagle Mountain Trout Farm.
Although it isn't Eagle Mountain Trout Farm anymore, and it's no longer a working trout farm, we went up there to have our picnic lunch. The old guy who owns the place now was happy to have us stay for a while. He gave Molly a bag of fish food to throw to the remaining few trout and the carp in the big pond.
Molly was a great mountain traveler and didn't complain at all about all the time we spent in the car. She wasn't even interested in watching movies, saying that she'd rather look out the window and see everything. She's pretty awesome.
