Appointment: 36-week
Blood pressure: 120/66
Weight: +7 lbs. (+16 lbs. total for the pregnancy)*
Baby's heart rate: 180s/150s/140s**
Measuring: 37 cm.
We had some excitement at the most recent prenatal appointment! First of all, I gained 7 lbs. in 2 weeks.* How is that even possible?! I'm blaming it on an afternoon appointment with a full belly of lunch! Or water retention.
The second bit of excitement was when they checked Mia's heart rate.** It was in the 180s, and she was moving all over the place. dr. w. listened for a couple of minutes to see if it would go down, but it didn't.
I assured dr. w. that after lunch is one of the times that Mia is the squirmiest. (But really, this child squirms constantly! And oh the hiccups!) dr. w. asked what I had for lunch, and I said, "A turkey roly poly, baked chips and water." She replied, "Well, that's a good, healthy lunch!" Just to be on the safe side, dr. w. said I needed to be monitored for a while, which meant I got to sit in a comfy recliner hooked up to the fetal monitor with a buzzer to click every time Mia moved.

After about 30 minutes of wiggling around, having hiccups and kicking, she settled down and went to sleep. Her heart rate returned to the normal 150s/140s. All was well!
